Allied Grain Systems teamed up with Malteurop Australia for their plant expansion in Geelong.
The Malteurop upgrade, named Project Kardinia, is the result of a 2 year effort to extend the plant from an annual capacity of 80,000 tonnes to 200,000 tonnes per annum.
In December 2017 we were down in Geelong for the erection of the overhead gantries to go on top of the clean barley silos.
It was a team effort, whereby we assembled the gantries on the ground, including the walkway mesh and handrails to provide fall protection.
Once assembled our crane’s biggest lift was 14 tonne, which went up like a dream!
The crane lifted into position, landed it onto the gantry supports, and all holes lined up so perfectly that we could see the sun shining through the holes from the ground.
